Helping FortEng with their compliance

The Client:

FortEng is a purpose-driven engineering business “passionate about designing, testing and modelling electrical machines and their controllers, renewable and hybrid energy systems, and traditional and complex power systems and elements, for power system analysis and design”.

The Challenge:

FortEng came to us because they needed to re-comply the Automatic Voltage Regulator (AVR) and Excitation System at a well-known Power Station in South Australia, and they required our expertise to make it possible.

Our Solution:

Our highly qualified engineers began with compliance and performance testing onsite, checking the Power Station’s AVRs, and onsite Basler DECS (Digital Excitation Control System) and Invensys Triconex (safety instrumented system). We supplied our specialised R2 measurement equipment with fully calibrated, high-speed recorders that we customised to the site specifics.

Our team supervised the testing as per FortEng’s test procedures, delivering our findings to the client at the end of each day, including CSV files and test IDs.

The Outcome:

By leveraging our expertise in R2 Testing and re-compliance, FortEng and the South Australian Power Station can rest assured that their systems are performing to the highest quality, and that their businesses are completely compliant with legislative standards.
